Colgate magical stories and mohamushkil with my monkey prince

written by Indrajit Lahiri March 14, 2017

There is this TV ad going on and on for Colgate toothpaste- with some childish cartoons on pack and somehow, my son saw it. The way, I am saying it, it isn’t that simple. Seeing the ad means I’ve to get the thing for him- period.

But, “we already use Colgate and the month’s supply has just come” ….. my son was not in a mood to listen to my theory. Now, one thing, we can learn from these kids- when they want something, they put in all their might for the same and eventually submit. And, it was during the same time, received the mail. Application process was swift and everything was perfect. In fact, I forgot about this whole issue…

A big packet had found its way to our home one afternoon and fall into the hands of junior. He was eccentric. The unwrapping was done immediately and inside there was 2 no 200 grm tubes of Colgate paste (my wife and mom were super happy, at least junior had got them something useful… ) and the instruction sheet inside. As with all the kids, the enthusiasm died quickly. As soon as he understood that something useful (read, useful for his learning) is inside, he lost interest. But, we insisted on opening the wrapper and inside was having those lovely cartoons of our solar system and small knowledge tit-bits on the same. Even we were ignorant of a lot of facts, which we came to know.

The wrapper was supposed to be cut with specific instructions and using the dotted lines there. Upon cutting, the cartoon figures needed to be put up straight, which was a cakewalk for him. I am extremely sorry for not being able to take the pictures during that phase, because like a good father (I hardly act like one), I was helping him. and the result, I must say was not bad.

Other than taking care of our health (which we already know these guys do), it’s actually a damn good sign that Colgate is now helping us and our families as well to learn something – something we’ve long forgotten and our kids will find this interesting, I was assured. So, it’s the Colgate magical stories time and basically, some father-son bonding time…..
