“I understand you are going to write on Hilsa, so why don’t you visit Bangladesh once ? “ Ankur Salim Siddiqui asked me once. We met during one of our calls and my standard response was “Hami gorib admi achhi” … “Ahh come down, We, from Long Beach suites Dhaka would love to host you, after all, you’re the most Obsessed Blogger in the Top Food Blogger Awards”. A few days of logistics planning and off I found myself on the morning flight to Dhaka.

Eagle has landed- finally …
It was my first visit to the land of Hilsa and being a food-blogger, it was my long cherished dream of mine to be there. The pick-up at Dhaka Airport was spot on and once we reached hotel, it was a great welcome there. My whole itinerary was planned mutually for me well in advance and it definitely was a packed schedule.
And here at Dhaka …
But first things first. I was put up in the Super Deluxe King category room on 11th floor and the room, I must say, was with a great view. Now, any city with such a heightened view can’t really look bad for anybody …
But by now, I was waiting to taste the food there, the bad side of being a food-blogger, it got into my blood now. And I was in for a surprise. The restaurant’s name is Cozy Sizzler and it has a wide buffet spread for breakfast and dinner. And for lunch, they serve A La Carte items. We were at lunch and Chef had arranged for a four course continental lunch there. And here is a glimpse of it.
What about the food ?
The soup looked brilliant and being a big time carnivore, starting with a vegetable soup (pumpkin and broccoli) took me for a surprise. Apart from being a visual treat, it tasted damn interesting. But surprise element was there for the Chicken roulade. The problem with chicken Roulade is they tend to get hard if overcooked. But it was not the case here. It was perfectly soft, while having the perfect taste.
Next dish was a stuffed chicken breast with peeper sauce. It was not Cordon Bleu, but something similar covered in peeper sauce. The sauce gave it a different touch altogether. And while, I was getting stuffed already (I don’t really eat as per my size), the final dish was a strawberry cheese cake. And no sane person can deny a cheesecake. And right I was, it was divine.
You can check about the overall Bangladeshi breakfast and lunch here …
And next day, there was the Italian Food festival by famed chef Davide Cananzi and the festival was launched by Italian Consulate in Dhaka and all the other consulate representatives were invited there. And, here is a glimpse.
The coffee shop :
Apart from the Cozy Sizzler, on the ground floor, there was this bakery and coffee shop named Cozy Lounge. But sadly, I couldn’t enjoy it much apart from one lovely pizza and few sessions of Cappuccino. The graffiti on the background wall and glass ceiling had a pleasing positive vibe in that place.
Out of the way help by Long Beach Suites Dhaka :
I know Ankur is a good friend and he had planned a serious array of activities for me while in Dhaka. So, I was invited for a chat session with RJ Apurbo at Jaago FM 94.4 along with Ankur Salim Siddiqui. And recording for the same was provided by the radio station thankfully.
Finally I would love to thank Long Beach Suites Dhaka for the great support they’ve provided for my #HilsaKahini and I hope for many more future associations.
And for those who’re visiting Dhaka for leisure or business trips, your stay destination can very well be Long Beach Suites Gulshan, Dhaka.
Bon apetit !!!
