It’s a cafe, it’s a fancy garage….. no, it’s Nosh Cafe. Ok, I understand that was a bit dramatic (remember the kung-fu panda 3 styled “Dramatic Entry” ??? ), but frankly, the place is THE dream destination for somebody who love automobile.
We were invited here by Zomato to taste have the regular meetup and off course to taste the menu. What I understood that this joint is a veg joint, but they’re just about to roll out a non-veg menu, which was served to us for tasting.
The place is just beside Mominpore crossing towards behala (Direction). A bigger signboard for the cafe would definitely help in locating the place. They have a huge Machiner’s Paradise glow-board, but Nosh Board was of a smaller size. Management decision- can’t help. Limited parking is available and should not be a problem. The entrance will be stunning, I can guarantee you- I mean where else would you find a Triumph giving you company at the open air section and a green mean Lamborghini welcoming you from the glass window.
Interior is equally swanky. Automobile parts to be sold, a car/ Bikes thrown in, indoor games and a giant screen with X-Box playing driving simulation games. On the left, seating arrangement was done- a little less light but ok… small separate hookah section was inside (thankfully good decision for a non-smoker like me).
And food started coming. The menu was preset and sufficient for even a heavy eater like me. We were served 4 types of dips and the standard condiments. A small bottle of Dettol instant hand sanitizer was also given (surprised….. )All fine.
The starter was Mai Ka Laal Nachos (Nachos topped with hung curd and salsa type masala- a little soggy but ok-ish), Family garlic bread (soggy and not so hot- not recommended) and stuffed mushroom (best of the lost. The cheese filling was yummy).
Next came the non-veg items for which we were atually waiting. But, they were ok-ish (actually). The chicken wings was good, but the sauce was a little more than needed. Chicken skewer was nothing great (very regular stuff) and the fish finger was fine, but just fine.
In the main course, we were served 2 types of pasta (penne) with white and red sauce. It was served with garlic bread on side. The BBQ grilled sandwich was a little over grilled but not bad. I didn’t have the Baigan Ka Bharta Sandwich, so can’t comment. The burger (with the strange name- Khujliwala burger)was huge in size and ok-ish in taste.
To gulp them down, I had some Hazelnut cappuccino and it was fine- nice and creamy. For dessert, I was served Oreo based chocolate mousse and it was good.
Overall, the experience was satisfying. Ambience was great and the food good (though it had some scope for improvement). Its the service part that should be taken care off (maybe they were under-stuffed, but a customer wouldn’t really be bothered with that).
Thanks Zomato for the nice evening and Nosh Cafe for hosting us…
Bon apetite !!!
